Here's the nearly completed coyote head-dress! She came off her form all reshaped and pretty so now all I need is one more strap across the chest to make her easier to wear.
I'm a bit iffy on calling it a "head dress" because that seems to imply some kind of ritual purpose, and I don't participate in rituals. It's not really a costume though, and to call it a "cape" would be to confuse it with a mounted taxidermy coyote cape so.... I guess it's a "hood?" A coyote hood. Close enough. I went with a turquoise yarn for the head straps because I liked to contrast with the orange fur. It's not terribly comfortable but this is my first time ever making one so I'm pleased with the results.
I originally intended to offer her for sale but I think I'm getting attached to it. Maybe sometime down the line I'll trade her for something (I've been looking for a black coyote to make a headdress out of) but for now, she's alright.
She was a wild-caught red coyote, the tanned skin purchased legally from a leather clothing outlet and reshaped and modified by me.
nice job
Or wait no, that was the six fingered man.
