Wounded and alone, the unicorn seeks out a secluded spot to die. Now that he has stopped running, soon the hunters and hounds will find the body and claim their prize.
I'm disappointed in those trees, I could have done better. Disappointed in the ground, too. The moss I like, the blood isn't bad, but I think I'm out of practice.

Overall Vision Originality Technique Impactthis is lovely and very poignant, as it echoes the death of so many earthly creatures that have either been hunted for food, or irresponsibly wounded and left to die. I am glad its in a traditional art style, as sometimes photoshop can be too much - the detail is focal to the unicorn itself, and gives more tenderness to the image. Highlights the beauty of a creature like that in a human world. I love the little mounds beneath the unicorn, but maybe the backdrop could have been darker to highlight it a little more. The style applied to the grass could have been used more, and this would give it more of an illustrative feel as a whole - this definitely adds to the tactile nature of the image.
