Victor's pelt was among the first pelts I purchased when I got into taxidermy, but at $120, it was also among the most expensive, so for a very long time I was afraid to even work with him.
Recently I decided I'd had enough of waiting and mounted his head, completely botching it. Realizing I was ruining one of my favorite pelts, I sent him to Midnight Wolf Designs on etsy to finish the body for me as my stitches were poor. She did a wonderful job on him but his head was still lousy, so I took one more chance on him, took his head apart and rebuilt it.
It looks much better now and I couldn't be happier despite his flaws. He's my personal mount and will not be for sale any time soon, the amount of money and time that went into him would make trying to make a profit off him impractical anyways, but that's ok. He's a lovely bit of taxidermy and guests are always a little shocked to see him, but that's half the fun.
